Hey guys,

Picked up this star yesterday. Was labeled as a color tipped Linkia.

Also, the 6 arms kind of throws me off...

Reproducing?

Thanks! :fun4:

Here it is in our coral / invert QT tank:

Nardoa sp.

They are fairly reef safe, the 6th leg is just a disgrowth.. probably from recovering as a result of losing a leg.

What should I watch out for coral/invert wise in a reef tank?

Any other info on them? Size, etc...

Thanks :)

I personally don't have too much experience with these stars (or any at all infact..) but coral wise I'm not entirely sure.. keep an eye on your hard corals but I don't think these guys are that big of a threat to reef tanks. I find them relatively similar to the linkcia species but a little less specialized. Again these are mostly just educated guesses as I don't see them often.

I'd say around a foot diameter, maybe a little less in size.

He's in a quarantine tank with a few SPS frags. I guess I'll see what happens over the next few months while he's in there...
