Hi, the first, sorry because my English is bad, IÃ"šÃ‚´m Spanish.

IÃ"šÃ‚´ve just caught a mantis shrimp from my principal tamk, he came in live rock from Cuba. ItÃ"šÃ‚´s long is about 1.5 inches. ItÃ"šÃ‚´s colors are beetween green, yellow and greyish-brown. I havenÃ"šÃ‚´t identificated it in Internet because the majority of stomapods images are from the Indo-Pacific. Please help me to indentify it, I donÃ"šÃ‚´t know how to feed that specie. In my principal tank he was eating a small piece of shrimp, IÃ"šÃ‚´ve put some shrimp and some squid in its tank, but until the moment it hasnÃ"šÃ‚´t eaten.

IÃ"šÃ‚´ll try to take a photo.

Thanks

IÃ"šÃ‚´ve seen a photo of Neogonodactylus wennerae and is very similar. Does N. wennerae come from Cuba?? And if I,m right and is a N. wennerae, how can I feed it? I live far from the coast, thatÃ"šÃ‚´s why I canÃ"šÃ‚´t get live marine food, like smalls crabs or hermirts...

N. wennerae certainly should be in Cuba. It occurs through the Gulf of Mexico and as far north as North Carolina.

It will eat small crabs and snails, but should also take bits of shrimp or mussel. These animals can be picky changing food, so be patient. Sometimes they will go for two or three weeks before feeding on a new item. Don't worry. It should eventually start feeding.
