Hi,
I'm in need of help. I have had two tangs (1 inch regal and 5 inch yellow) in my aquarium for about three months with no problems and now here's whats happening.
Yesterday the regal was nowhere to be found and is still missing (presumed dead) but I have a 6', 135g with 250lbs of rock so it could be anywhere in the bottom.
Now the yellow when the halides are on (400w on either end, 250w middle, 14k all) it will begin acting very frantic and will swim top speed a short distance and go vertical in the water, over and over again. The color looks fine, can see no problems with the fish.
I checked the parameters of my water, everthing is good, did a 25% water change, dosed with garlic, but as soon as I lower the halides (they are in a box and piano hinged so you can service the tank), it starts doing it IMMEDIATELY.
Any ideas, guys? I believe if I run the lights it will stress itself to death.
