Ill post a picture later tonight but I wanted to know if there was an article or something to ID snails/slugs. I was reaquascaping and this snail/slug came crawling out from one of the rocks...This thing is pretty big and has a "foot" like a slug (very long, about twice the lenth of its shell.. ) at first I thought it was def a slug but then i used a short rod to touch it and it felt like it had a shell.. the shell is exactly the same color as the "foot" a light brown with areas of dark brown.

ANYWAYS.. It doesnt look reef-safe. I say this because even tho Ive only been in the hobby for about 3 years Ive never seen anything like this before...

Stomatella maybe? Does the "shell" sit really low and kinda look like a little hat? If that's it they're real good cleaners.

+1 stomatella. A good reef safe critter.

It doesnt look reef-safe.

I love this comment. I am definitely not picking on you. It just struck me as funny considering all the weird-looking stuff we put in our tanks.

+1 On the stomatella snail. They have a plate on their back rest of it looks like a slug. They come in lots of different colors/patterns too.

wow thanks, It moves very fast too its in a small glass mason jar doing laps around the rim.. So toss him back in?
