ok.i just set uo my 220 again after moving and cant get rid of these microbubblesthat fly into the tank . i use a blueline 70hd to return water to tank from 75 gal. sump.the bubbles are superfine, almost like dust.no bubbles seen in sump ,it has a bubble trap built in it.any suggestions will be appreciated.i am planning on doing mostly sps this time ,and think these microbubbles will affect sps acros.thanx

not sure if it's the same for you but I've dealt with them for quite a while and finally figured my drains were too big for my pump, and the flow was too much through my sump. So the standpipes pulled air in, and then the water was going through the bubble trap so fast the bubbles didn't have a chance to escape. What fixed it for me was to use to tie the drains together with a tee and use a ball valve after that, and valve back the main pump a little. Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. I understand you are slowing down the flow to the sump. I hate to do that. I am trying to think of another way to do it without slowing down the flow. Any ideas?

Shine a very bright spotlight into the sump and look closely. That is a very big pump for that setup. How is the sump laid out?

I would say you have way to much flow through your sump
(norm is about 3-4 times tank volume)

I have a panword 150 PS on my 180 (1100 gph flow)

I dialed it Way back and I have no bubbles in the tank.

Thank you both for your replies. I am doing a thorough inspection for air leaks after my sump (because I see little if no bubbles on the intake side) line. I will try and get back to you soon. I appreciate your responses!
