I am now having problem keeping my alk in the 8 to 10 range due to corals demanding more as they continue to grow. the problem I am having is now in wi i am able to have the windows open in the house and it has caused a substancal impact on my ph. all winter i was at around 8.1 8.2 so continually dosing 2 part and kalk was not a problem which helped me keep my alk around 8. (which btw is about as high as i can get it, dont know why). now with the house opened up my ph is always between 8.3 and 8.4 sometimes even over 8.4. what can i do to raise alk without raising ph. please help.

125 G SPS dominated reef NEP t5 40 sump/fuge

ph : 8.2 (8:00am no light all night)
nitrate:0
phosphate:0
alk: 6-7

one idea is to drip kalkwasser at night after the lights go out. if you are using a controller it would be easy to do.

also check your alk against a 2nd test kit before you do anything. i had what i thought was lo alk issues but reality i had a test kit that had gone bad. many local fish stores will check it for you often for free if you are at least semi regular customer

Use baking soda to increase alk with minimum effect on pH. You can use a commercial 2part recipe 2 or Randy's DIY 2-part from the chemistry forum.
