anyone using a linksys gaming adapter with their controller? i can't get my adapter to work with the controller. can anyone help me?

i cant get the linksys router to work or so i think. i just bought it and i can't get it connected to the main router wirelessly

Did you set a static IP on it? If so ping it and see if you can reach it. start, run, cmd, enter, ping 192.168.xxx.xxx

only the ip address of the main router works. i got the gaming adapter to work but i can't access it or the controller using the ip address

Just to double check, you have configured the game adapter with the correct SSID and the same type wireless security that your main uses? Is the game adapter set up to use DHCP or is it a static? Most game adapters have a setup tool that will run you through the setup process. Did you run that as well?

i have the ssid the same. for the dhcp if gives me the option to do it manually or automatically. i did it manually. and after it says it's been successfully configured and when i try to enter the ip address to access it, it comes up not found.

Okay, what kind of wireless security are you using on the main as well as the game adapter? They have to be the same type of security. For example, I use WPA2-Personal for mine. Don;t know if your main router will have this option though as of its age.

What happens if you ping both of them. To ping:

Start Button
Run
In the run box, type cmd
then type "ping youripaddress"

Any luck?
Can you get into the GA and set it to AP Client? Have it do a site survery and check your network. Then set-up the Security as the same on both. This worked for me. Granted it took 3 days, but it worked.

We got it working. Took a phone call. Now, I just need to send him my IT support bill. What's the going rate nowadays? :) :)
