I have a fish store in Armenia and i am the first to start with marine tanks(the only store to have marine tanks).I got shippment from Jakarta 10 days ago and was keeping my fish in quarantine tanks with sponge filter and salinity 1.010.yesterday I chenge some watter housing 4 antias and 2 wrass.today they were laying on the bottom.please help.

Test your make up water and your water in the tank. Your salinity is pretty low. What was the salinity of the replacement water. How much water did your replace?

The sponge filter on the qt tank is used because it can provide a home for nitrifying bacteria that can break down the ammonia and nitrite. How did you get your bacteria into your sponge? Most people will let the sponge sit in the sump of an established tank for several weeks to culture the bacteria onto the sponge. They then transfer the sponge to a qt tank to act as a biofilter. You had 6 fish. I'm wondering if maybe there wasn't enough bacteria to deal with the bioload of 6 fish. How often were you doing a 40% water change?

thise tank is about 150g and it has canister filter.
I have about 10 clown fish,5 pseudochromis,1 zanclus 5 wrass,2 bicolor angels,2 decoras,2 small zebra lions.

So more than likely it's one of the following:
1. Water parameters
2. Thermal
3. Salinity
4. Stress
5. Disease

We just need to eliminate any from this list that we can and focus on what's left.

Also try to acquire, for the future: a refractometer (very accurate salt test), plenty of ammonia test, activated carbon for organic contaminants, and a product called Amquel. Amquel can remove ammonia. I'd suggest 20% water changes instead of 40%. More gradual changes are usually better, because if anything should be wrong in the change, it will be a smaller problem and less shock to the fish.

tank You.I do have refractometer, but the thing is I am in Armenia. There is no dealers of lat of products. What company makes the Amquel?

The scratching indicates likely ich. I do not believe Prazipro treats ich.

Combining hyposalinity and copper is not good. I am not sure about combining hyposalinity and Prazipro.

Prazipro is more to kill worms and larger parasites. Hyposalinity should deal with the ich. However it could also be bacterial.

I would suggest keeping your fish without medication at first, and keep them in smaller groups, without sharing water supply or nets. That way your chances of having one fish give something to another are smaller. Also if one fish has one thing and another species has something else, you can treat each separately. Do not share nets, and wash your hands between dealing with separate tanks.

Very helpfull info,Tank You Sk8r.can i use anibiotics with hypo and should I do it or should I wait.
Do You sugest to keep diffrent sp. in diffrent tanks?
