I've been doing FOWLR for over four years and I'm getting more and more interested in corals. I know almost NOTHING about keeping corals but I keep seeing pictures of the following and would love to know more about it.

I'm thinking about setting up a reef tank in Manhattan, but I'm not convinced yet... help convince me. But until then, please ID and teach me!

btw, I don't even know if I posted this in the right section because IDK what it is! Please forgive me if I posted in the wrong section.

That would be a cluster of Ricordea florida, a type of mushroom. Pretty easy to keep as long as you avoid extremes (very strong light, lots of shade; very strong water flow, no flow). Does not require food, but will reproduce faster if given something zooplankton-like on a regular basis (mysis, brine, chopped seafood, etc). You'll probably find a lot more info in the Mushroom forum.
