please show me your t5 only sps tanks

What lighting for Frag / Growout for a major large tank build for myself. Which system of lighting would be recommended, which would then dictate the tank build. Or other recommended variation for this Frag Tank??
1. 48” X 96” with ??? T 5’s
2. 40” X 80” with Lumenarcs ??? MH
Either Tank would be 14” deep SW, racetrack design, end overflows with Tunze and wave boxes. Sump would have L.R and Mud filter with available Skimmer and Dosing. Blu Coral / “Pappone” Fastest growth for SPS ???
Tanks need to be built here in Bolivia but hardware can be brought from U.S. or Europe.
Frags to follow.
Thanx

I have been looking into T5 lighting for awhile now. The vast majority of the sps tanks that I have seen using T5 lighting are under 24" in height. I have seen some stunning photos of sps under T5 lighting. Theres no dought that sps can thrive under T5 lighting. I have been researching T5 lighting to be used on a 30" tall tank, now that I have not seen all that often. Everytime I see a beautiful T5 sps tank and read through the dimensions it has been <24" Anyone seen any 30" high sps/T5 tanks?

Heres my 2 cents. I have a 180 sps with 3 250 watt halides =2 are 10 k XM and 1 is 13 k guesman combined with 2 160 watt VHO. My friends tank id a 125 with a aquactini 5 bulb. We both have ORA corals started at the same time. My flow - 1 tunzee wavebox & 2 tunzee 6080 with a mag 18 return and MRC6 calcium reactor. His tank 2 tunzee 6025 and a ehiem return pump, dosses randy's two part. His ORA outgrew mine by twice and are much more colorfull. I put one of his ORA bottle brush in my tank and the purple started fading. Excuse my spelling. I do not jump on new stuff either BUT the proof is there. Fortunately he just took down his tank and let me buy the lights YAH . Now my wife has them over her 75. On the other note we may be setting up a 220 which will have 400 watt hallides.

Here is my 29...I've been running 5x24W TEK retros over the main tanks for about two years now..and switched to mainly SPS in the last year...all SPS started from frags 1" or less...

dodarocs@tin.it, what if anything do you feed your corals and how often? what other equiptment do you have on your system, ie skimmer, filtering systems, refrigiums?

Use zeovit, as food reefboster the vial to week, average glutton cubetto three times to week, 4-5 times to week PCV.
Skimmer H&S A150F2001 reactor of soccer korallin 3001.
As it arranges of filtration I do not only have nothing skimmer.

they were taken a month apart, and with a diff. white balance. The second pics are a better representation, but I still a little off. Like the big cap, it's a light tan with baby bule poylps, but I can never get a pic of it with out it being all washed out looking.

ooooh finally ..... spectacular colors and layout divine. Sure that it uses only T5?

thanks

Hey guys,

I don't have whole lot to contribute to this discussion, but I have a 6 gallon shelf aquarium from petco and I am running one 15 watt t8 and 1 10 watt cf. I have several sps, including a pink birdsnest, purple rim monti cap, and a couple of others that I don't even know what they are. Under my lights, they are all doing great. I have had them for about 8 months and they have grown quite a bit and are colored great. The only reason that I posted here since I don't have t5's, is to say that you don't need MH to have sps.

Ben
