please show me your t5 only sps tanks

Now.... ask each and every T5 user how many times they were told they would not be able to keep acros and other sps and clams alive, let alone with any color in the course of their hobby:lol2:

lunar,jervis,
this is not right! you people need to let us know your setup, light combo, tank depth, wether you use supplements, zeovit, prodibio, or anything else! both your tanks are just awesome! it's just nice to know that there are so many ways to skin the same cat! keep up the great work!!!!

My system has been skimmerless from 8 months, but I'm not convinced that this decision was right.
The main tank: DSB and live rocks, tank depth - 55 cm
ATI powermodul consists of 10 fluorescent lamps: ATI blue plus, ATI aquablue spezial, Giesemann Power chrome.
Refugium (38/60 cm) in a sump contains 7-8 cm Miracle Mud and Chaetomorpha. It's lighted by 3 ATI 24 W aquablue spezial lamps.
I use Balling method (Randy's method without chloride free salt)and don't dose zeovit, prodibio. I add Cycle (Hagen) weekly and change 10% of water systematically.
I'm glad about T5 and I don't intend to resume MH.
Greetings

That's a beautiful set up that youve got there lunar. I would love to get the ATI lights, may be one day :)

Just curious as to the skimmerless part of your tank. Did the skimmer crap out or do you run the tank skimmerless by choice?
Do you think that the skimmer did anything for you water quaility?

just curious as to your set up.

Cheers

Chris.

It was my choice. I met Leng Si personally once and I thought why not to try his method. It was curiosity to know something new. For the time being everything works well. The water is clean, animals are in good health, there aren't nuisance algae but I'm afraid that skimmerless system some day will not stand the test of time.

Can, please tell up your tank setup. Include powerheads, sump, and any additives you are using with your tanks.
By the way, the tanks look damn good.

My tank is 4 years old. In the meantime I did some changes in it. The corals are cut down on a regular basis. Everything was moved into a new tank a year ago because I and my family moved.
I don't have any close up shots but I will take some.
My setup is rather simple. I prefer to limit the amount of technical solutions. I use a sump with The Red Dragon ~7200 l/h as the main pump and two circulating pumps Iwaki MD 40 and Tunze Turbelle 7100. For a year I haven't used devices like calcreactor and kalkmixer because I switched to Balling method (or rather Randy method - without NaCl free salt). Calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate and sodium bicarbonate liquids are added with Grotech dosing pumps. As I mentioned I don't use prodibio, zeo and anything of this kind. I trust in Cycle of Hagen. I have added it for years, always after water change.
Rowaphos and activated carbon clear water.

My 75 gallon ,not the best pics but hope to get better ones soon...

cichlid67, That is sweet!. setup info please? also how old is your tank, light combo ? i notice you didn't take any pics with white lights on, any reason for this?

My tank is just a little over 2 years old, most of my corals were from another tank, most were started from small frags and a couple I bought from folks in our club.
The lighting is a Tek 8 bulb fixture and I run 4 UV Super Actinic and 4 ATI Blue Plus bulbs thats why the pics are so blue, but it looks different in person, honestly the lights are an overkill and Im going to buy a Solarflare or ATI fixture later in the year.
I do about a 25% water change every 2 weeks and dose B-Ionic 2 part along with running carbon and Rowaphos. My skimmer is a Euro-Reef CS6,Mag 9.5 for the sump return.
I have ALOT of flow,Tunze 6100 with controller,Tunze Nano stream,Koralia 3 and duel returns,I did have a Maxijet mod but I didnt like it went with the Koralia and love it.
I check my water parameters weekly using Salifert test kits but rely mostly on my Medusa CM-750 Chem Tester.
This year im upgrading my lighting ,skimmer, return pump and getting a bigger sump with a fuge.

Cheers!

If my tank looked that sweet I would let it ride. Obviously what you have is doing it's job. I don't see any reason to throw more cash into something that nice. Unless of course you are going to a larger tank. Once again though if I had a tank that looked that good why go larger?

when you upgrade your return pump if you are going in sump I would highly recommend the ehiem pumps. I replaced my mag 9 with one and I will never cut corners again. The eheim is astounding!
