No problem...The Deltec and H&S are definately top notch and definately lead in the industry IMO but I think that if you could accomplish a skimmer that equalled the performance of a larger Deltec model for much less than the price of the smallest Deltec available, I say go for it :-)

I'm not saying it could be matched but at some point you get diminished returns. I just can't justify or afford spending that type of money for a skimmer (deltec-H&S)

Don't overthink this. Get a good quality build that won't break on you or get brittle if you run ozone or even just over time. Heck, you can have 0 nitrates with an airstone skimmer.

i understand you dont want to spend the extra money on the h&s and or deltec

the h&s will spank the deltec you are looking at
aquabee 2000 vs the aquabee 2001

if i bought a euro-reef i would get one with the ehiem

Watch the foot print on the ASM's If you are wanting the it hooked up as a recirc Mod it too will be larger than what the foot print says. I will not get another skimmer with out the Recirc mod. I need to Mod my G5 bad.

My vote would have to be for the Octopus Recirc Needlewheel

Is it that much bigger than a G4? I don't remember how you plan on setting this up, why is it you don't have room?

The G4 Plus is 11.5x16

The Octopus Recirc 200 is 9x21

The sump is 36" long and will have the skimmer area, fuge, return area
