Ployclad flatworm removal

After messing with the polyclad flatworms in my tank for several months, I got fed up. I went and brought Salifert Flatworm Exit to give it a try. Knowing it was designed for the small "red bug" flatworms, i figured they're all Planaria, so why not. I put the drops in the tank, and let it soak for around 4 hours. I did a 25% water change and started charcoal. Two days later I have yet to find a flatworm. Hopefully this pain in my butt, killer of snails is gone. If somehow they have lived through this, I will welcome freshwater fish again......

On a side note, the Flatworm exit also killed many, if not all of my bristleworms. I will have to get some more to re-populate my tank.

I had those worms, they look like a piece of gray skin and they eat snails. I thought they looked really cool. I have never seen them in great numbers, when you see one, capture it with a turkey baster. YOu can suck them right up.

Lots of people have tried FWE on them without any sort of luck, so I wouldn't get my hopes up yet. After all, even though they're called flatworms, they aren't very closely related at all. Some people even consider them two different phyla.

Don't pop my bubble yet......I have been pulling out 1 a night for a long time, two nights without any is a huge improvement.

yiliyang - did you get rid of them, if so how. They seem to reproduce quickly.
