Plumbing Auxilary Devices

So I'm tired of fooling around with a crowded sump, do you suppose I can run a Mag250 into the chiller, up and into the UV sterilizer (which is how it is currently configured) and then add on my phosban reactor?

I mean, presumably the slower the flow through the UV and reactor all the better, and I think the chiller should be plenty effective even still.

any problems with that?

personally....I run at least 3 jobs with a return pump

they of course are the return, and I power my chillers, and a reactor for carbon. I dont actually run carbon but for a couple days every few months, but its always sitting there online with fresh media ready to go should I do something stupid or it be time to run it for a couple of days.

One pump...3 jobs

I dont run UV, but i see no reson why you couldnt in your case have it do 4 jobs, or even 5 if you are one who runs carbon and GFO and want to run two reactors. Just size it appropriately and have ball valves controlling each line

Yeah I have a mag9.5 for my return/refugium feed. I would run the other devices off of that line but they are precariously positioned, so I opted for a secondary mag250 auxiliary pump.

i was just trying to save you space.......with saving space in mind get a bigger return pump to do it all.

as far as the chiller.....what size of chiller?? even 1/10 small chillers need at least 400 gph through them to not damage them

hmmm...that seems low

the handful of 1/10 chillers I have either used or installed for people are all rated at needing 4-800 gph.

PCI's and aquaeuroswhat kind of shiller is it?? that 1/4 HP one sounds insanely low

haha! well I was wrong about one thing...my old chiller was a 1/15hp, and this new one is a 1/10hp! whoops...got me...but....

1/10hp JBJ flow rate: 240gph

1/15hp JBJ 110-160gph

Yeah as I'm looking at the Pacific Coast (the chiller I really wanted) and the aqualogic chillers, they are substantially higher flow rates.
