Plumbing Help for Novice Senior

Hi All,
Purchased a used 90 setup pretty much complete. Had to have floor supports put in and that is now finally done! Now to plumb, fill and check! For most things I can do a search on RC and find a ton of answers without asking! But this plumbing came to me in parts!! Keep in mind I'm an old senior + plumbing dummy, please forgive me if I don't use correct terms ect. I did my best to reassemble everything, but seek opinions to see if I did it right. (In the past my kids have helped me but they are too busy at the time, so going solo!)

I'll have a couple of questions too! First pics from overflows down to sump (hope they upload). I was told upon purchase this is a 'herbie' overflow set up. How does it look?

Question #1, end outlet of emergency drain has several holes drilled in it (that's only if I have it hooked up right) what is the purpose? Question #2, I have a couple pieces left over and cannot for the life of me figure out what they go to (yes I used my sewing tape measure to depict them :eek1:) #3 Seller said I should tighten the overflow " black things" at the bottom after the long ride for delivery (2-1/2 hr drive). Should I do water test first before messing with them?

Ignore the Amazon box the plastic refugium is setting on, if it's correct I'll build a stand. I just could not figure out any other way it would wor and drain into refugium, but as it is, it looks short and noisy, maybe one of the missing pieces go to it? However the ends do not fit. I could have other pieces in wrong places! Sorry for the long winded help needed! TYIA for opinions, suggestions!

Hopefully the photos are visible, this 'photobucket' route was not easy for me (get forgetful and lost!) I prefer the copy and paste of a jpeg directly from my computer. But if there was a way for that I could not figure it out

I'm a novice in this hobby as well. But my thoughts are answer for question 1, possibly to allow air into the line and reduce noise. Answer for question 2. The one with out the black connector could be a swap out for the drain from the refugium. Answer to question 3. Check to make sure they are snug, don't over tighten as it could cause the rubber gasket to twist and allow a leak. After you verify that it's snug put water in and check for a leak. If there is a leak around them try tightening them a little more. You shouldn't need tools but if you need to only tighten a small amount at a time. Hope it works well.

If after a couple tries of tightening it doesn't stop leaking. Empty the water and check the rubber or foam seal is not damaged and retighten. Also you don't need to fill the whole tank. You should be able to put water in the area that they are in for the check.

The surface areas of the bulkhead gasket and the area it sits on should be clean of all matter. Even a grain of sand could cause problems, Washer goes on the flange side.
