plumbing problem

I have black 3/4" flexible tubing from my return pump to my sea swirl. Right now I have the tubing fitted tightly over a 90 degree that is threaded on the outside with metal clamps to hold it on. It ended up leaking so I'm wondering what I can do/use to fix it or replace it. TIA.

you could always use pvc glue on it. Or i know that they make 90 degree bends with hose bibs on both ends seen them at CnC plumbing

Think it will work if I wrap teflon or thread seal tape around the threads before putting the tubing back over it?

thread seal tape probably would not work well.

One thing i like that is not permanent is silicone. I used it on my pvc pipe on my nano. When i moved I just pulled hard and the pipe came apart. Did not leak while it was running.

Jordan- Do it right the third time and PVC the darn thing and put a ball valve on it while you are there.

Thanks guys for the help. I went to home depot and they had nothing then I went to ace and they had a 3/4" nylon elbow barbed on both sides. Works great.

There is also a RainBird sprinkler repair and supply shop off of Manzanita in N. Sac that has all kinds of useful barbed and PVC fittings. I got tired of searching through the huge warehouse stores and found these guys have just about all the common sizes we need. Sched 40/80 stuff and ball and gate valves too.

any bulkheads?

That was the only thing I could not find at the store. I learned the hardware that bulkheads were a hit or miss locally, and ended up ordering mine online.

never ever use PVC cement on any type of flexitubing. It is slightly corrosive and can eat through vinyl like a hot knife through butter.

That is a great post, just like someone told me silicon will not bond to acylic...Thanks again.

Sorry about the silicone and acrylic one Mark.... But if I recall the end of that particular thread, it turned out all right in the end :D.

I am glad that you got yours all worked out here too Jordan :)
