Plywood aquarium stand

This used to be the case, but tank makers are getting away from that. Newly constructed tanks come with cellular support pads for the whole base of the tank to help distribute the weight throughout the entire bottom glass.

The tank he has is not rimless. The only portion of the glass that will be making contact with the stand is the perimeter of the pane that is attached to the bottom rim. I have almost the same tank and I can put my finger between the center bracing and the glass itself.

I guess I should have been more clear. I was asking for my own sake and for that of others that will use this thread as a resource. I bought a rimless with a cellular base, and that is the trend for many. I was hoping to get OP's thoughts on center bracing for this application.

Yeah my tank is only touching around the perimeter. The reason I did the bracing in the center flat was to save space for plumbing. All its doing is tying the front and back members together. Not really carrying a load.
