plz help me about 'Oregon' & 'Wolverine' ‘red planet'

Dear guys，

i bought 3 pieces good stuff, can u guys tell my is that the real species.

1. This pic is what we called 'red planet' is that true red planet?

2. This pic is what we called 'Wolverine' i saw it in ReefraftUSA, but i can't say that is the same species.

3. This pic is what we called 'Oregon tort' still, can't say it's the same species.
in my tank, it's not very blue like others Oregon tort, its looks like a litter bit purple.....

Pics are not good enough for see everything about it. but, i wish you can use your experience, tell me is that the fake things.

ID'ing acros down to the species level for pictures is really difficult. Newly added frags are even tougher.

My guess is maybe on all three. Not really as familiar with the RR stuff, too rich for my blood. 1 & 3 are likely, Red Planet frags are really common. Oregon torts are fairly common as well...less so than the RP b/c they are such slow growers. Both are great looking corals though, rare or common or whatever.

Did you buy the "wolverine" from reef raft or does it just look similar? If you didn't buy it from reefraft or know the lineage than its not a "wolverine". That said, they all three look nice. They'll have to grow a bit more for a more definitive answer.

I have red planet and wolverine. Don't ask for pics because they are tiny. I live near reef raft Canada, and we have this stuff everywhere.

There is a LOT of "wolverine" around. It's mostly look alike.

thanks for reply. The international ship payment is 895$. It's too expensive for me.
So,I can only buy it in local reef shop, and I am new to this.... That's why I poster here.

Anyway, when I bought this litter stuff, Really make me happy. I think That is enough for me, and if the species is right, that makes me happier. LOL

One could be RP. I have a colony and its red and the polyps are pink. The frags can stay that color or the flesh turns white but the polyps remain red so yours could be. Third could be OT but the one I have is such a painfully slow grower I feel I'd die before it even grows plus I had to cut a nub off so I'm left with half of my frag. Mine is very blue with turquoise tips. I wish I had a RR Wolverine to help you.

That's Red Planet. Mines colored like that as well. The new growth is white with reddish polyps. The colors are coming back slowly.

This is my RRUSA Wolvarine I just picked up this morning. The guy I bought it from, bought it from RR at Reefapoloza in LA.



Looks like an Oregon Tort to me.

but, i really want to have a true wolverine!

i have seen all you guys' reply, only the 'wolverine' had the most bad comments...

i just wanna buy a true wolverine. but no faith for local store.. how can i buy a true wolverine

is there anyone can show me a growth wolverine? i wanna to see the real one....
