po4 in a sps system and brown sps

i got a feeling you are right, and that is what i am gonna try and do. and what i have ben doing for a week, so i will just keep going down this road... for now, and see where it ends..

After looking at your pictures I think you have some serious wTer problems. Also your Sps are STN and there is little to no PE. Also is your water that clody? I see you have algea. And that is feed by The wrong nutrients so your po4 is probly higher. I have to ask are you using ro/di water or tap water? I would change 2 to 3 gallons of water each day unt you see results. Something is not right and I don't think it's your lighting. But if you want raise them higher for a little while and see if you get results. Also is your light schedule on from 800am until 11 pm?

the water is normaly crystal clear, i had just cleaned the glass.

I am using RO/di water, it has a tds of about 0-1.

I will try and change some water each day for a period, to see if that helps anything. I am having a hard time to keep any no3 in my system.

The lighing is starting doing the morning rise at around 07.30 and is off again at 23.. Is that to long a period with light?

Do you think they are getting to much light?

also i dont know if this is worth anything, my hysterix is having good color ration, its bright pink, and growing fine.

If you have alot of algae theyre taking up all of the po4 thats why your test results are at 0..if you do have algae problems y ou need to figure out the cause ..

Without ramp up/dawn? Thats alot of light. My leds are on 6hrs without ramp included about 12hrs total (with ramp).

This thread is confusing. It seems many say you need to feed more and have too few nutrients, yet you say you have to clean the glass daily and there is algae present. What gives? Which is it? Can it be both?

Hoping you figure this out. My tank goes through similar periods from time to time, but I always attributed from the fluctuations you'd see from a 14 gallon tank.

I have very little algae, but some, I clean the glass once a week if that, some SPS look great, with great color (have a blue tort that is stunning), some look kinda brown, some look pale (ORA red planet is pale pink), some have great polyp extensions, some have none, LOL! Go figure!

My sps lost all color at zero nitrates... Got my nitrates up to 1-2 and color came back.... My po4 has been at zero for 2 years.....
