PO4 update

After almost 2 weeks of Seachem's PhosSorb and Water Changes I got my Po4 lvl down to 0.06ppm. I keep doing water changes try to get it down even more but it never got any lower. I went through 2 liters of PhosSorb in a Phosban reactor, but it still won't go down anymore. So I got 500ml of RowaPhos and with in 45 mins of Rowa being added I dropped to 0.04. I can Now say Rowa is worth every penny. It still needs to drop just a hair but its better than what it was 2 weeks ago 1.5ppm. Thanks for all your help and input.

A number of people reported that Phosar is even better than Rowaphos. Phossorb is an alumina based product, isn't it? Dr. Randy Holmes-Farley mentioned about the possible adverse effect of alumina based phosphate absorber on leathers in one of his articles.

Yes, it's relatively new. Warner Marine makes them. I believe I bought it from Custom Aquatics. It is more uniform in shape (larger pellets) and porous but not fragile as other GFO. It can be used in a media bag or in a reactor.

Thanks Tomoko. I currently use Rowa or Phosban - and you do have to watch the flow rate in the reactor. Larger pellets would be nice.

Warner Marine is going to launch a new product called Phosar Plus. It's a mix of a superior GAC (ROX 0.8 - used primarily in high purity applications like food and pharmaceutical) and Phosar. The bottom one in the picture below is Phosar Plus. The one above is ROX 0.8 activate carbon.

ok Its been a couple of weeks since I've been trying to lower my Po4. And After a few water changes and 400ml of rowaphos, as of this afternoon using phillip's Hannah spectrometer it was 0.03 !!!! I can say that It's hard work but worth it.
