Pocillipora frags 2nd tank move?

Came from a healthy 220 ( someone else's) to my not so perfect 55 about a month ago. From mh to T5's. Good polyp extension but they are turning increasingly brown. I now have a 250w mh pendant ( yeah me) over my 150 and was thinking about moving the frags over there but I had read sps need time to settle in to a new environment. I know more light would be better but I am wondering if i am doing more harm than good.:reading: Any input appreciated!

Pocillipora corals are extremely tolerant corals. They can tolerate all the light you can throw at them. I have the same green Poci growing out of the water 10" from a 10k 250 and in the shade 3 ft down on the bottom. Go figure.

Check you water quality. Pocillipora will lose color and brown out if nutrients is high or if alk is low. I have my pink pocillipora under a 250 hqi high in the tank with high flow. It will go brown if my alk gets low or if something else is off in my tank. Not the best pic of it. Its in the lower left corner.

Take it out... Pocci has invaded my entire tank.. It's everywhere.. It pretty, but can be very aggressive to other corals.

I noticed in my t5 tank that the higher I put it, the more faded it became. So, I put my original colony right above the sand bed and it got a really deep color to it. whateer you decide... Good luck :)

I don't have the best test kits but my alk is a little on the low side. Will recheck and adjust some. think I will lower the frags, too!

Yeah poccis will spawn in a reef tank and they end up all over. I think its cool when anything spawns in a reef tank. Lets you know that you are doing something right. My pocci is up high in the tank it likes the light.
