Pod control?

Pods are always desirable, don't go buy anything that only eats them. Sixlines can disrupt a large tank, in a 29 I wouldn't try one. Doug's right you wouldn't think it is so but it is true for most wrasses a 29 is like a prison cell, and the fish would likely starve. Mandarin's are iffy in perfect conditions, if you're ready to buy live pods to feed the price is coming way down finally. I'd let those pods have babies and the babies have babies before I'd add a predator to the mix. At night you should see them flying all over the tank, you want that, they are natural reef inhabitants and you should be glad to see them, be patient.

I wouldn't even consider a wrasse. Not because they can be mean or get to big, I just ain't a fan. I love mandarin's, I'm just going to wait a while to get one.

I tell you what though, these pods must be getting it on like Donkey Kong. Every day there's twice as many as the day before.

We just had an outbreak of copepods today. I've been waiting since we put the tank up in October. I've seen a very few in the refugium, but today there were hundreds on the walls of the display & most of them had egg sacs. Made me very happy!

I am not sure how old, but it's about 2.5-3 inches now. I hope he does not turn in to a meanie. Sometimes, my female clown likes to hang out with him instead of her husband. She's fascinated with the Sixline's fin display. The Sixline gets really red when it does that. Truly odd.

Thats funny you say that because mine has been a perfect citizen for 4 years in my 90 corner until it started to beat up my male false perc recently.
Mostly all seem to turn bully eventually IMHO.

My Sixline does not go near the female clown when the male is with her. He is a bit of a chicken. I wonder if he will realize one day that he's the toughest fish in the tank. Right now, even the little Coral Banded Shrimp is snapping and chasing him away from food.
