Pods?

Anyone have an opinion as to how many pods I should introduce to get a good stock going in a newly cycled 180?

I think it depends on how much they'll have to eat, and how many things will be eating them (and how soon). If you have a mandarin goby, you'll need a lot. If you have nothing to eat them, and some chaeto or algae on your rocks, then one jar (i.e. DT's Live Pods) would multiply in a few weeks or months. If you have macro/chaeto in a refugium, you probably already have some, you could add more to there and they will multiply.

I not know how many pods but you should do it slowly into refugium and with lot of DT and it will multiply very fast

just make sure to start feeding phyto to your tank if you add pods. it will greatly help to sustain and boost the pod population. :)

If you go to reef2go.com, you can buy 1000+ pods for about $20. I was a little skeptical about the count, but I think it's worth it, I bought about 4000, I feed with spray dried phyto and they reproduce nicely and keep my mandarin fat.
