Pohl's Coral Vitalizer-What is it?

Is there a good place to read about this "zeo" stuff? I basically found this thread after reading about some guy's tank in Germany (in the large tank forum) that has amazing color in his acro's from T5's. Well, I have T5's and most of my stuff is brown. :D So I found this thread after reading that he doses this Coral Vitalizer.

You can read more about it at z.....t.com. For some reason RC won't let you link to that site so you will have to fill in the blanks.:D

Travis, have you tried CV and/or AAHC ?? If so whats your views ?? I was thinking about it...

I am guessing no since I just read a post from you 4days ago on z.com about wanting to see pics :)

Well I've been using the CV and AAHC for a month......along with heavy feedings of mysis shrimp and CE (so it isn't very scientific).

Although recovery is always a slow process, I'm starting to see some colors come back to previously faded corals. Also, all the STN (which was very slow) and decalcification has ceased and starting to reverse.

No. I was really planning on trying the CV for sure and possibly the AAHC. There was so much hype on the other board about the CV when it first came out. Everyone had so many good things to say about it and a bunch of people were promising to post before/after pics. Well, guess what? Not a single before/after pic yet. In fact, the whole thread completely died for a while. Makes me tend to think the "hype" was nothing more than hype. Me, I need to see some proof before I drop $100 on a bottle of coral food. Right now, I feel everything was hyped up. Who knows... maybe someone will post some convincing before/after pictures one of these days and change my mind. But until then.....

As for the AAHC, I was only going to give it a try if I ordered the CV. I won't order it alone and pay shipping just for 1 item.

Travis

I dont have before pictures but I will post pictures of a few corals after dinner and describe where the additional growth started when using CV.

I'm not a Z..... user but did jump on the CV train when it came out.

wfgworks, any pictures are always good pictures.;) But there is, of course, more proof in a before/after pic. But even then, you cannot necessarily attribute any changes to CV alone. But yeah, please do share your pics.:) Also, how much are you dosing, when did you start, and what is your opinion of the product thus far?

All of the corals below have shown some effect from dosing CV. In most pictures, you can see where the new growth started.

I'm dosing around 24 drops per day, usually at night but if i forget, I dose in the morning. My total water volume is right around 280 gallons.

I started with the recommened dosing of 1 drop per 25 gallons but increased because many were doing so with no problems. I think I will drop it back down to 12 drops per day as the product was intended.

My opinion of CV so far is that it does improve growth in some corals but not all. I dont understand why some corals are affected more than others but thats how it is in my tank.

Has anyone yet used AAHC? If so, how does that work for your tank?

I've been using CV for 1 month now and I've seen polyp extensions that are incredible. Some coral colors became brighter and others stayed the same.

Either way, when I'm done with this bottle I will continue to use CV because I believe that it truely does work.

This is true that if you are running a ALL Zeovit system,it does only effect certain corals. It depends where your coral come from.I can't remember now.But it was mentioned that some corals WILL do better than others.Even the Zeo people aren't really sure why this is either.A wild guess,as certain corals might take more of the CV.And have a more positive output? But it is a mystery either way.The reason I know this is because I tried their reefkeeping theory. But I had tank issues, and had to shut it down.I never really started it up again. But they talked about this at times. And that what was told to me.Different corals from different parts of the world are effected differently.

Anyone have any new news on the Pohl's? I was thinking of trying a small bottle but seems it must all be on back order.

Does anyone have results to share on the Pohl's? I'm also interested but would like to hear back from those of you who made the leap first.

Thanks, Geary

I've used the C-V for some months now, I got it soon after it was released. I noticed an immediate change in many of my frags, more polyp extension, some definate coloring up(though, always hard to attribute to one thing). I notice that certain colors, or possibly certain corals are affected more. I also use the aminos. I really need to get the right lens for my DSLR and get some good pics to show. I would then have the before and after, I just can't get the white balance dialed and all the pics come out to blue. Anyways, I think the aminos and CV is awesome...just my opinion :). I only run 2x250 DE 14K phoenix bulbs so growth is not spectacular, just consistant. Most all of my corals are small frags from other hobbyists so the tank is growing up slow. I only have one colony out of about 30 sps and 7 chalices...the rest little frags from others. I'm in no rush :). The stuff is not cheap but I have had some really good results in my tank so I plan on continuing what I am doing :D

Thanks, Slojmn.

It's good to hear that it seems to have a positive effect. It'd be nice if there was more detailed information on this product. A couple of questions: Do you turn your skimmer off when feeding the Pohl's and amino acids? Are you feeding your corals anything else?

I know that a lot of folks have difficulty with not knowing what is in this and other zeo products...I'm fine not knowing :). I just like what it is doing for my tank. I don't feed my corals anything extra and I don't turn off the skimmer when I dose the Aminos and CV. I dose each daily when lights are out...usually early morning.

marilyn,

Your welcome to a two week supply to see the effects it has and if it works you can order it. A local Zeo guy (gqjeff) sent me a two week supply before I bought mine so I can do the same for you :).
