Poknsnok's 240 build

need your 90 gallon back? LOL

Nice tank man. I just bought a 240 as well and it is currently cycling. It will be no where near your tank but man I cant wait to get it setup the way I want it. I had to use everything that came with the setup for now but will start changing it to my liking.

I feel like i rob people when buying fishtanks. After what I paid for your setup, last week I bought the entire 240 with live rock, fish and all the equipment you can imagine for 500. It came with 4 little giant pumps (two small - two larger), WD filter, uv filter, etc, etc, etc.

good luck on your canopy. Subscribing now and will post pics when I can.

Looking great Joe! Have you seen any color in your Efflo yet? My rim and the tips are just starting to come out. I figure your's should color up much faster than mine (400w vs 250w). How are all the new corals doing? I see you have them on the bottom to acclimate from 250 to your 400's - I can see the blue in the Lokani (not positive on ID) from here - LOL.

Joe Awesome tank man. I love your aquascaping and I can see you have put a lot of hard work into it. I really hope you, Adam and Mike have some suggestions for me tonight. I really need to step it up. I guess that means I will need a much larger tank....

WOW!!! Great FTS!!! I have to get over there this weekend.

mike do you need me to help you move more stuff and accidently break off a few more frags.......... :) lol

thanks everyone.. I plan on getting back to doing more on the tank now.. Carol, the efflo colors up more everyday.. the tips are much purpler than they were in qt.. Chris. i like the minimal rockwork because I want open spaces for the fish, which are in QT by the way and room for corals to fill those spaces. But now I have so many corals I may need a bit more rock.. I had some alk and ca problems but it seems that I finally have the reactor tuned so I expect the growth to really kick in.. lets hope!!

Are you using darts? And can you hear the hum from them?

unfortunately yes, one of the darts has been loud. but it comes and goes which is hard to explain. For example today it has been dead quiet. I have 2 spares and plan on replacing the loud one as soon as my hand is strong enough. I just had my cast removed after breaking a bone in my hand..

I had one of my 3 Darts get loud within the first month and would not always start back up if turned off. Sequence replaced it and all 3 have been quiet for months now.

i might:).. i know what you mean about the lack of resale value in tanks and equipment.. sold the old 200 for about 1/5 th the price paid.. this hobby isnt for the faint of wallet

WhooHoo - got the cast off, now I can really put you to work - :D. Oh, that's a pitty that you have to many corals and now you need more rock work to hold them all - LOL.

So, when are the fish do back in?

Don't let up on him. He's had some time off, so now it's back to work!!!

Alright awesome, what is the hum equal to outside of aquarium like a fan or what not. Because im setting up a ~200 in my movie theater room and i need it to be really quiet.

That's right Mike - I'm thinking very convenient (Me having to take care of things on this side of the bridge - :) ). He's just a step away and we've been working on ours forever - Hmmmm, something isn't adding up!

Hey mushumatt- Joe's the person to talk to about quiet fans. I think he went through about 5 before getting the ones he really liked.

Well, if you get darts and they are as quiet as they are supposed to be it should be no problem.. however here in the Tampa area lots of us reefers have them and some of us have had some issues. Reeflo, however, always makes good on the problems.Thier customer service is great but it can be inconvinient when you have to tear plumbing apart..
