Polarized Filters worth it for tank shots?

I noticed with my new Revo sunglasses on with good polarized glass lenses that my color in my tank/Corals really really pop and it really pulls the blue hue out. I am wondering if it makes sense to buy a good filter to use on my camera rig. or will i see or be able to apply a similar change to the photo inside Lightroom2 the photo edit software and by using a filter would i be stuck with the effect always and not be able to edit with as wide of range?

I am currently using a canon 5dmkii with a sigma 180mm macro or 16-35 wide for tank shots. they are different Lens sizes so i my need two filters? does the filter make more sense for macro or full tank shots in your opinion or should i do both if I do it?

Thanks

IN tank/tank macro shots, a polarizer will help cut glare. It does also cut light so you need to make sure you have a good tripod. But IME, it is very useful.

As for needing different sizes, if you don't want to spend the money on 2 good filters, you can get one for the larger size and then get a step-up ring to make it work with your smaller lens.

Never used my polarizer for tanks stuff. Eats too much light for me to do what I want (fast shutter speeds). It is the one and only filter I do use in any event. Just not for my reef stuff. It really is excellent for general landscape (and other) types of photography.
