Police raid a house with a salt water tank

LOL!

My wife is always joking with me about the "blue glow" coming out of our window at night!

What a crazy world....

Gotta love 'intelligence'. Rick in the MTRC forum (mdwannabe) posted a story about a friend of his who had the police bust in thinking he was growing weed because of the heat signature from a helicoptor flyover earlier that evening. They replaced the door without acting like idiots, though. We were accused of growing pot in out liing room by the home owner association president in Nashville. We'd been in the house three days when he paid us a visit... After seeing that there was, indeed, no pot growing in the living room and that the fish tanks were putting off the blue light, he demanded that we put up curtains. We got right on that;). It's one thing to be ignorant (not knowing what the blue lights were), but a completely different thing to be stupid (acting on that which you are ignorant). He complained to every other hoa president following him, wanting them to make me shut the tank down. Of course this is the guy (elementary school teacher) who called the cops on the teenage kids who played in the cul de sac, never bothering anyone. Some real winners out there.

In Cali, I had cops come by just to "say hi and check in with the neighbors" ... and rubberneck until they saw the fish take. :)

We had one sit out in the street for a few minutes shortly after moving to Montgomery. He moved around for the best view through the dining room window, then left. What was extra sketchy was getting up and looking out at him, then closing the blinds. He drove off, though:). With an electric bill of $450/month (gotta get a new AC unit), I won't be surprised if someone comes a knockin...

LOL you know I've kind of been waiting for a cop to stop by for that very reason. We have a high utility bill and behind our house is lit up pretty good at night. I even upgraded our service last year from 200amp to 400amp. I was sure that might get some attention. Since the county inspector that came out to check on the work that was done.. said "wow I only see wire and panels like this in restaurants what do you need this for" lol I think the only thing that has saved us the trouble is the fact that we live so far off the road..

I'd be pretty mad guy though if they kicked my door in and dragged me and my wife out of bed.. Police need to keep an eye out for labs and what not.. But I got to think they could atleast do some surveillance before they just decide to raid a home on nothing more then a reported smell.. I mean come on

I'm in an apt. on the wrong side of town, i'm waiting on the cops to come check out the blue lighting beaming out the window. And i'll be extremly irrate if they drag me out in cuffs over a fish tank. For godsake, it would be more than easy to watch me for a day and find out whats going on.

I'd be more worried about some of your neighbors coming by to try and harvest your 'crop' for you. Surprising some of the burglary calls you see where 'nothing of value' was taken but the place is ransacked. They didn't wreck the place looking for nothing nor leave behind the x-box and jewelry after going to all that trouble and risk. If they think you got some in there they'll come sooner or later.

Try this if you're really worried about the cops and they're sitting outside: open the blinds so they can see it's only a tank. Go out and say howdy being sure to continually complain about whatever crime or worries you have in and/or about your area. Nothing drives 'em away quicker than listening to how crime isn't being held in check by their efforts.

Shortly after I got my first tank I had a couple of neighbors ask about the "blue light coming from the window" It's the people that put aluminum foil over the windows that one should worry about. ;)

well i hope none of us make it on cops, a little attention is nice but not that kind, i juist moved into town so i guess i have something else to worry about :-)

LOL, after my recent tank leak (long story) everything ended up in a loaner tank in my garage. Well, I'm running on a reverse daylight schedule to help keep the temps more stable. I also keep my garage door up about 4" to allow ventilation.

Last week one of my neighboors came up and asked me "What's up with that light coming from your garage at night? Are you growing weed or something?"

Do they sell break-away front doors that put back on easily after being kicked in?
