::POLL:: Calcium, Alk, What do you do?

With this post, I am hoping to have a long running tally of what people are doing for supplementation. If you choose "other," please state why.


So above you should see a poll with the following categories:

-Calcium Reactor.
-balanced two-part additives.
-Individual Dosing. (dosing them all separately)
-Kalkwasser.
-calcium reactor in conjunction with limewater.
-balling method

tried them all except the balling method, calcium reactor is the easiest for me.

I voted other because I'm using DIY improved 2 part with a Litermeter and remote pumps. I'm loving it; it's super easy and gives great stability. Ca+ reactors are great as well.

Kalkawasser has done wonders for me. It keeps everything stable. I also do individual dosing for calcium, mag., and stron.

i am doing ca reactor with kalk reactor and its worked very well for me. i am thinking of trying either the balling or some form of two part though as it seems like such a simple and easy system to implement. besides, i dont like when my ATO comes on while the kalk reactor is stirring and clouds up the water. i know, i'm picky...lol.

I'm using a calcium reactor and a kalk reactor. I like the balling method for the higher pH, but I'm not a fan of the manual labor of making the two parts (3 if you include magnesium).

I have used A CA reactor and a Kalk Stirrer and have found Randy's Two Part to work best for my needs. Its simple, and I don't have to worry about low PH or a kalk over dose.

ESV + Litermeter 3. Calcium + alkalinity stays level, requiring very minor, if any adjustments. I only have to fill up containers once every 20 days. The downside is if I forget to refill for a couple days, kH drops uncomfortably.

I was seriously considering the balling method. I think I may look further a two part method though.

For the guys using two part. Are you dosing both alk and cal in the same day?
