Hi everyone...I thought I would start this as its own post. Has anyone on here ordered from Live Aquaria/Divers den? If so what were your experiences? Do you prefer ordering from regular Live Aquaria shipping out of CA facility? Or from Divers Den...what you see is what you get? How healthy were your fish from there...are they still in your tank months/yrs later? What kinds of fish did you order? How did you acclimate them to your tank? Thanks in advance!* Sorry if I posted this more than once...wasn't sure where to put it...LOL!;)

Cancun,

one thread per topic please. Don't post the same thing in multiple forums.

Thanks,

Yes/Yes from both and it has always been great service. FedEx did lose one order, but LA made it good

Items that ship from California are in water with a much lower sg than items that ship from Wisconsin so keep that in mind during acclimation. I have ordered from both and have been extremely happy and impressed. On divers den they get some really nice stuff. I just got a purple monster acro I am very excited about.

Prefer to know what I am getting so I'll pay the premium for Divers Den but don't hesitate from either. They are best in the business in my mind for online orders and I prefer them over LFS.

I've ordered many fish from LA. Six-Line Wrasse, Orchid Dottyback, Flame Angel, 3 Blue Reef Chromis, Yellow Tang and Burgess Butterfly. Never lost a single fish from there. They all sat in a QT tank for two weeks while I monitored their health and eating habits. The only treatment they received was Tank Transfer Method simply as a precaution. I never saw any signs of ick or any other sickness but all of my fish go through TTM just for sanity sake.

LA is the real deal. Typically their fish run a bit higher price then my LFS but the fish are always healthy and vibrant. The two week guarantee is also nice to have and most LFS don't honor something like that.

As much as I love supporting my LFS, I rarely buy fish from there anymore because I have about a 50% survival rate vs 100% from LA. I'm not sure if everyone has trouble with their fish or if this is isolated to me.

Finally to touch on acclimation, LA sends directions for drip acclimation. They run a pretty low salinity, about 1.017 from what I have tested. I try to get the salinity to atleast 1.022 before I drop them into the tank. I try to do this in about an hours time because of the ammonia buildup in the bag water.

Yes to both. Both are good but I'm going DD all the way from now on. Specimens come in at the same SG as my tank / QT and you can't beat WYSIWYG

i order from DD for all my fish. i ordered a ball of chaeto from LA. i order DD because it is WYSIWYG, and the wisconsin facility is really close to me. also the DD facility has a higher salinity.
