Poly tanks on Craigslist....

would work great when cleaned. i looked at these locally in green bay but they wouldn't work for me do to not fitting through a standard doorway.

cant you take them apart.I know the ones at my work you can.And im sure can bend the container a bit if needed to get in door.At times we have crushed them pretty bad and they dont break or leak.

No, but what if you were to run a saws-all around the top 8" and cut it off flat... then hooked your return pump to that bottom bulkhead and used it as a 200 gallon sump... it'd be worth dropping 40$ on a bucket of salt just to add 200 gallons of total system volume.

Crap. Now I'm thinking about it.

I thought I have seen these by wal-mart on gb's west side for sale - I think it was on Hinkle. They were sturdy also.

crap....another idea....THANK YOU!!!..........not! :D cut it down even farther and have one heck of a frag tank :D

Yeah... I saw those also Ken, but when I called the guy, he said those were used for a detergent containing phosphate. I was not thrilled about plastic that could absorb phosphate....

I thought about a liner to safe guard, but for the same price I'd go with food grade guy here...

also, those had a solid stock metal wire cage around them, most were rusting pretty badly from sitting outside. From the looks of the craigs list ad, these have a tube stock that looks like stainless or a polished steel / galv. that is still in good shape. I would still prime it prior to use if you buy, but would prefer the one in better condition - sure you'll agree.

Custom, once you cut it down, it'll fit through the door. I wouldn't cut it down any more that you had to to get the job done. Wasn't that what Siropa was using in his pond?

plainrt. I have this friend who spends alot of money buying only supplies meant for reef tanks and is never innovative. Everything has to look "cool and clean".

I will be buying most of his stuff when he gets out of the hobby because he cannot afford it.

besides.. in my basement, I'd frame around it anyway and cover it with ply on the outside and you would not know the dif.

na siropa was using a framed ply box he made with a pond linner in it

ill be passing on these thats for shure....if i came home with a plastic box wraped in steel...my wife will want to through out the plastic and put me in the steal cage!
