I tried posting in reef discussion but got no feedback so I'll try posting here. I purchased the Polyp Lab reef-resh kit a few months ago and have tried dosing it to my three tanks. I'm wondering if other people have used this product? If so then what experiences have you had? Have you heard anything about this product either? I have noticed great effects on reducing algae outbreaks, cleaner water, some brightening in some corals mainly sps, but even an anemone, and greater PE.
I have heard that one person had troubles when stopping dosing, so I tried stopping with one of my tanks. I noticed no problems at all within a month.
I run three tanks, all with refugiums and protein skimmers. One is a BB 40 gal sps frag tank with a remote sand bed, one is a 75 gallon reef with mainly soft corals and LPS and an angelfish, and the other is a 55 gal reef with 3 sebae anemones and softies and three fish.
I have noticed the most difference in my 55 gallon reef so far as water quality goes. The water is much clearer and algae growth has halted. In my frag tank I have noticed much greater PE than before on the sps corals. Even frags that weren't in good health are now polyping. I haven't noticed brightening in coral color that much, maybe just in a couple sps corals and an anemone.
So what do people think about this stuff?
