Sorry bout the delay guys, School has kept me very preoccupied with my time! I had the opportunity to bring in a whole bunch of reef samples into the lab to run some tests and view everything under the microscope. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone that has the resources, viewing a living Copepod or coral tissue sample under the microscope is highly rewarding and entertaining.
Come on man lol just give us the name of the stuff you turned the bottle for a reason and never answer the question lol spread the wealth lol whats the name of it and who makes it? With the power of internet anything can be bought these days. I am afraid to go buy some random "multi green supplement" and crash my tank I have a ton of zoas and really would like to try your routine out but cant if I dont know exact products
I have been watching this thread hoping to zero in on what this multi green supplement is and where can I get some so I tooo can give this a try on my zoos. waiting patiently! great looking zoos btw.
I'm going too pile on.....Come on man...We need the name of the multigreen supplement....I agree as said above what you are feeding is definately working well. I am afraid to just grab a random "multigreen" off the shelf. Your tank is fantastic. Help us out don't leave us hanging! Thanks for sharing, appreciate your thread.
Yup give us the name or just take a pic of the front of the bottle
Exact branded? Maybe checking local natural supplement stores for a US "equivalent"
Would you mind getting a clear picture of the label for ingredients purposes?
I can go to the local store and search for something similar
Yup, just wondering about the green stuff, bet people would go for something "proven" rather than experimenting; looking at the label and comparing with some local businesses' products might just work if the product he uses is not available in the US
did see the other 12 things he feeds, saw the lighting he is using, and the excellent parameters of this system. But myselfs and others are curious as to the "no name multigreen". Obviously the supplement is not a magic bullet for success but some of us wanted a few more details for various reasons....
Whoooaaa, I should start marketing this stuff as the end all cure to keeping zoas haha :lolspin:. Unless you are willing to make the trip up here I highly doubt you can get your hands on this stuff (Unless someone ships it to you), Superstore (Like Walmart, Walgreens, ect...) has there own brand called "Exact". I purchase the 255g Bottle of the "Multi greens" supplement for around $65.00 Canadian. For the larger components of the supplement (Apple Fiber, Soy Lecithin, Milk Thistle Extract, Gingko Biloba Extract, Ginseng extract, Milk Thistle extract, Bilberry extract and Grape extract) I used this site and a few from my University search domain to ensure that the copper content was minimal (
http://www.jbc.org/content/82/2/465.full.pdf). I'm almost positive any high quality multi green supplement will work but again verifying copper content doesn't hurt.
very nice tank/collection/system
Thank you!
Zoa tanks are one of my faves.....used to have a 10g that was pretty sweet.
They have to be one of my favorites also, first frag I ever got was a brown zoa (Which I still have today actually :fun2
it was down hill ever after.
stunning tank! I really liked some of the shots on the Canadian site. Your electric bill has got to be out of this world! I would like some more info on the cheato canal. Next spring gather as much pollen as you can on pieces of flat glass/acrylic and add that to your mix
good luck
Thanks Geo, I some how contracted a **** eating grin off that statement and I have a feeling it's from the compliment (Considering your tank is actually one of my major inspirations). I make sure I cut back on other things @ the house to keep the bill down but the tanks do eat up a fair bit of power.
Pollen makes me into a walking zombie so instead of collecting it next year I will be sitting in my IQ Air filtered basement eating Reactin and cursing at all the stupid tree's outside. It's an interesting idea though, Pollin isn't that rich in nourishment but the particle size is perfect to fit in a corals mouth. The Cheato river is fed by my NP Biopellet Vertex 15 reactor, flows right back into the sump. Any specific questions that you want to know about it, it acts as a wicked frag tank when I take all the cheato out.
If you don't mind me asking, did you custom make the tank for the Cheato "River"? Is it acrylic or glass?
An to anyone asking about the brand of the Nutritional Supplement, he has pictures of it posted on the link he provided in post #18 so I doubt he is trying to hide it from you
Don't mind at all, it's a custom made glass tank with a 4' duel T5 Hagen light on the top. Anything else you want to know about it? Thanks for reading my thread on Canreef!
read the Canadian site and it was time well spent.....would like more info on canal as well.
Thanks, there are some great discussions on there for people that are looking. What other specifics on the channel would you like to know?
You guys did see the dozen other things he feeds too right? I doubt the green supplement is the sole reason he has such a beautiful tank. More likely good combo of lighting, chemistry, and husbandry.
Thank you, I have a feeling another key to success is having a good Bioload that is fed a constant supply of healthy food. Fish poop and dissolved fish poop work just as well at feeding your coral as any of the "Super Supplements" on the market do.
This is by far the most gorgous zoa tank i have ever seen!
Thanks for the compliment, I wouldn't say it is the most gorgeous (Considering what Mucho's reef looked like and what Geo's does) but It does have some time and money invested that's for sure!
