Polyps Galore, 70+ Colony Zoa tank

Move some of your pink polyps up..they are reaching for light. Mainly your Fiji/Tonga stuff. shoot me a PM more info! ...Great tank!

this is a beautiful tank/tanks. i think im going to try out your broadcast feeding technique.

i know exactly what your talking about with browned colonies from the LFS and letting the color up. i was at a frag swap and picked up a colony of about 50 polyps. the were brown but i saw some potential as they has a bit of purple hue poking through....well turns out they are coloring up to be purple hornets. just need to get them under bluer light to get the alternating skirt. gotta love sweet finds.

ohh yea and you chalice collection is quite nice, that tank is amazing as well

What kind are these??? I want them!

Need a bit more info off you, current parameters and any fish that might be bugging them. What are you feeding and what sort of skimmer/ flow are you running.
Little more info and I'm sure we can get em growing.

Some new underwater camera top downs:

hands down the biggest collection of colonies i've seen. great work! The sizes of some of these polyps are insane! zoas on steroids.

So do you feed all of this to your tank in one night:

2 lbs Muscles
2 lbs Manilla Clams
15 Giant Shrimp
7 Large Oysters
4 Minced Carrots
1 Half Head Broccoli
1 Bottle Selcon
1 Bottle SeaChem Amino acid supplement
2 Bottles of Coral food soak
1 Half Bottle Reefroids
1 Half Bottle freeze dried phyto

Or does that amount last you the 3 months? Just wondering because that would be overkill for my tank. I don't think I have fed that much in a year, let alone in one night. If that amount does last you 3 months how much do you end up feeding and how often.

Also if you dont use it all at once, do you refrigerate or freeze the rest?

Thanks

wow, very nice

Thank you!

I2as kass, you have an awesome selection of zoas and nice color coordination in your tank. I LIKE!!!!!!!

Names Levi and thank you, eeek this tank has only been up for 4 months and its full already. Looks like its time for an upgrade...

Greatly appreciated and the polyps are pretty plump, nothing outrageous though.

Oh wow no, sorry I should of said I pour the mixture into ice cube trays and freeze it. Usually feed one large ice cube per night but have been a little lazy with school.

Levi, this is a very inspiring thread. Thank you for sharing your beautiful corals with us as well as some of your secrets :). I plan on making some changes to my tank based on this thread. Your information about feeding response at night and how you use low flow and moonlights to trigger it are priceless.
This thread is what RC is all about.
