Polyps

Bonjourno,
Hey I was wondering, because this is kind of concerning. I've had a devils finger coral for a while now, it's color is nice and brown (HA) but it's polyps are almost NEVER OUT. I am concerned by this because I feel that it should extend it's polyps. (What could be the reason why not?)

75 gallon
Conditons: (nitrate, etc... all fine)
Metal Halide 150w HQI
Flow: 2 power heads 395 gph (either side for flow making)

Lighting most likely (and/or frequency). (does not mean that it's unhealthy)

I have a devils hand here is a picture of it in my tank when I had VHO lighting: (I've had it for about 2 years, 1 year under VHO, and 1 year under T5... more growth under T5 (and the polyp extension)

Here is the exact same coral under T5 lighting (notice the polyp extension):

So basically the probable cause for not extending would be the lighting? Does this mean that metal halide is too strong hah or too weak? (I am relieved it does not determine health but for visual sake I'd like to see some extension) I guess there would be no real way to make them extend heh?

I don't really know (and not sure anyone does)... It could be intensity (my T5s shed off a whole lot more ligth than my VHOs did).

It could be frequency of light (I have a broader spectrum now than I did then). (much more blue light now)

It could also be something else entirely that has changed in my system from then till now.
