I would have to guess cause everyone's tank is different but they may live up to 2 weeks in a swamp of a tank till they die off. But I don't think you have a swamp so you should have them for 3 weeks lmao, just playing you should be fine!

lol real nice

I would lean towards getting a frag from a local as well. I wouldnt spend a lot of money on xenia, but if LA has it cheap it may be something to consider.

I think that is way too much! Once i had Xenia I couldn't get rid of it. Most of the time around here you can get it for much less

For that amount of money get something nicer. You can buy a $10 frag of xenia and have a colony the size you want in 2 months. You could get a good size frogspawn or something like that for $60.
Also be careful to isolate the xenia or it will spread to places you don't want it.

kdocimo...i CANT get rid of my pulsating xenias...ha...i feel like they are pests in my tank...i fill a medium sized mixing bowl every two months when i decide to pluck them from my LR , yet i never seem to beable to get it all...If you absolutely love the coral then i say go for it...it gives your tank a very mature look very quickly yet it takes over in a matter of 3 months...i literally have to take them out of my tank every month or they begin to swallow the surrounding corals...if you lived close i would give you a few colonies of this stuff every month!! I thought about selling them but i havent really thought it interests people. Maybe i should eh!!

But if you dont mind it taking over than try it...lol...i dont want to turn you away from xenias so like i said....try if you wish!!

Ehh I hate the fact that it takes over the tank lol.. There is "thick-stem" pom pom xenia.. I wonder if that makes a difference in the growth rate
