poolkeepers LED build

We are Finished! Thanks to Brandon I have an Amazing set of lights over my tank now that far surpassed anything I thought it would turn out to be. Zach and I took some Par readings today after Brandon got the last few bugs figured out and we have a full 110 Led's running at last.
The readings we got were just amazing to say the least, All around the light penetrates much more even throughout the tank and some of the #'s were really surprising, Like around 450-500 @ 12" below the Surface and between 200-300 on the sandbed I think the surface water was 800 if I remember right but It is pretty steady through the whole tank and looks great. My first surprise was my Sailfin Tangs nose is spotted with blue that i never could see before and corals that looked just amazing with all the bulbs Brandon picked for color enhancement, It worked great!
This is meant to be a Public Thanks to him for his Knowledge in this area and just for being a good friend.

Thank you, Bill. :) I really appreciate it and I'm looking forward to the next one! ;)

I learned a lot and the project turned out even better than I thought it was going to, and my expectations were fairly high! :) I really appreciate what you've done and are going to do for me, too! I can't wait to get my new cube going.

Here are two pics I took real quick after we finished today. One is of the tank, one is of the fixture itself.

Lol nice work guys. Told you bill your going see more colors and even on the live rock you'll start see lil things glowing too. That you never seen before.

Optics

Optics

Which optics did you end up running?

Donny, I believe them to be 60 degree's according to the seller, They are IMO just fine as the light is very evenly spread. I am totally Happy with this change and my Coral after almost a month have had no loss of color, And some are showing great improvement with shades i have not seen before. My Biggest concern now is Dang Redbugs!!!! We took a suspect piece to Mel's and looked under his new Microscope, You can spot them little Buggers like Salt on a Black Table. Did my first Interceptor Dose last night at Midnight. At least there were no Flatworms...

Never say never

Never say never

Bill, I am interested in this as well. also, RED BUGS! AW MAN! I havent gotten anything from you in a while so I feel safe.

I don't think this is a new infection, But more of a few leftovers from the treatment that I never did the third treatment on. But i will do the 3 X this time to be sure!

If you guys have any questions about designing an LED setup for your tank, let me know! Donny, Cheng, and Zef are also great resources, and a few others I'm sure I forgot. :)

Dang Bill redbugs. Lucky its not flatworms or monti Eating nudibranchs those are a pita.
I would do 4 more times too be safe you may have some deep in your rocks if they been in there that long.

the LEDs cause the redbugs?? if not i am now thinking seriously about LEDs for the Pheonix. My pendant deal fell through so I need to do some math. Any clue what a set up would cost??

BTW-how is the wife?

For the 185 I would Guess somewhere around 1,500.00 Min but maybe you can do it cheaper than I did. I am far from an expert on these and have made a few mistakes like buying someone's used junk to start with. If you do build buy all your own parts New JMO
My Wife is still very sick and the future looks bleak, But we will take it day by day and Pray that she recovers.
