Now I can say this because I am a football fan and an ex college player but it is not "Poor England" but poor United States!!!! As we all know Beckam was one of the best "WAS!" and now we are paying him 1/2 a million pounds or for us Yanks 1 million dollors per week for the next five years to play here when he is almost used up sort of like T.O.

They did it as a stunt to get people in the stands. I as a player and fan of Soccer and Football like the move to create press but it will not work in the us Soccer/Football is like 4th in line here in the U.S Behind NFL, NBA, MLB, Oh and it is even worse off than hockey

Saddens me!!!!

eh, I see no point in paying professionals that much, going and watching the little league games is more fun in my opinion. Thers nothing like a raving mob of children all rushing for the ball at once. Much more entertaining. (grew up watching the little brother play soccer)

Gotta agree with papagimp on this one. I know being a referee the best age group to ref was the 6 and under. I got such a kick at them mobbing after the ball then there was always the stray kid chasing after a butterfly or playing with his/her shadow. It was a lot of fun.

Thats different though Adam, kids chasing shadows and butterflies are funny. Adults chasing shadows and butterflies are more of a distraction. Attention hogs....
