possible algae?

hello everyone,

as i was staring haplessly into he tank, i noticed some type
of "growth" under a piece of LR. the only way to describe them
is that they appear to be little "fuzzy sacks" -- isnt that clever.
about the size of a q-tip head.

forgive the picture quality, as this is the best shot out of ten i had taken.

I think those are going to need to get larger or better pics ( closer and with more detail ) are going to be necessary for an id.

I agree that a clearer pic would help. I wonder if they are tunicates?

Aha, I took another look and I can make them out now. Do a search for pineapple sponge, or scypha sponge. They are relatively common in new tanks and in some can reach plague proportions, bu then as uickly as they came they leave.
