Steve has been INCREDIBLE for the BUSINESS of reefing and many of you owe him big. BUT he harm done more harm than every reefer in history combined to the HOBBY of reefing.I know a LOT of you have forgotten that this is, well was, a HOBBY and have turned it into a business by trying to rape people to line your own pockets. If thats why you are into reefing, great for you! For those of us that still consider it a hobby, you guys with your $250 micro frags come off as pretty pathetic:strooper:

Also, keep in mind that a $250 frag is not worth $250 unless someone is willing to pay $250.
I'm sure you feel the same way about the ridiculous difference in price between a Korean car and a German car right. Let me guess, you own a Hyundai or a Kia right?
How do you justify the rate that Attorney's charge per hour? I'm not saying that you have to, however if i need the services of an attorney, I will need to pay their asking price. Now there are some attorney's out there that work "pro bono." But if I am wealthy, what are my chances of getting one to "take one for the team"?
Most of the hobbyists I know who sells frags would gladly trade LE corals to you if you had something that they wanted. But tell me, what gives you the right to criticize the person that is not willing to trade with you because they are not interested in what you have. More likely is that you are bitter that no one has been beating down your doors wanting to trade LE corals to you. If you see something you like, offer a trade. The worse they can say is no.

I've seen this morph float around a few times here as well. This being the third time. 1st time was on the chalice thread, someone posted a frag approx a 1-2" piece. The second on the LPS ID forum. Gets a nice orange coloration, and the beading stripes are just gorgeous! Truly an exceptional piece.
Great thing about this hobby is there are too many facets of it to list. Some people are in it to just keep what they consider a piece of the ocean in there living rooms. Some people are all about having the most efficient and elite pieces of equipment obtainable. Some are about fish, and some are about corals, and some are just collectors of extraordinary things whatever they may be.
I dont think anyone has the right to scoff at anyone because they dont hold to their particular definition of what the hobby should be. We wouldnt have the diversity of people, or things to see and talk about if that was the case...
Besides none of these things would be possible, and there would be no hobby to be had if there were no business to be had. Vested interests make things happen. Period. Not to many people out there that could float this hobby and all of it's demands and bring it to my tank and yours, just out of the kindness of their hearts, or for the sake of me or you to just enjoy our 'hobby'

why is that? man the hype on chalice are crazy imo. As for you guys pming me about fraging and how much......im not even sure how to even price it because it's not a "LE" where an eye is 200+. But "LE" or not if you like then you buy it. I may put a frag on ebay and you guys do the bidding. Sounds fair?

Steve isn't enjoying a hobby
Steve sadly took all his knowledge and influence in this hobby and used it to get in bed with a million and one chopshops whose ONLY purpose is to rape the average customer so he could line his pockets with$$$$$.
Seriously, anyone who thinks that Steve is good for this HOBBY is either a chopshop or not very smart.
Please explain to me how Steve laying a FAKE label on a coral as LE so that it can be sold for 5-20 times it's actual value by chopshops is good for this HOBBY

You do not know what you are talking about, and obviously do not know how Tyree does business. I am not a chopshop, have done business with Tyree, you can say whatever you want about my intelligence, and I think Tyree has been a pioneer in the field of reefkeeping and thus great for the hobby. Might be keeping guppies if not for him. Quit hijacking people's threads. Rduong wanted some info on his chalice and perhaps get a better idea of what he has. Start your own Tyree bash thread if you feel you have to talk shmack about someone. Poor Tyree, doesn't bother anyone, just sitting there growing out corals and wondering, "why so many haters?"

and props to steve tryree for what he has contributed in the hobbie. being one of the first persons to successfully grow acro back before high end skimming and and high flow pumps. a true pioneer in the hobbie whom has done nothing but contribute in the hobbie by promoting tank raised exotics.
if it wasnt for people like steve we would still be gazing over our green star polyps thinking we have mastered the hobbie.
