Possible parasite on clownfish

Hey I had a lubbocks wrasse die today. I had for only a week it ate well in the beginning but then stopped eating, and would flash the rocks. I saw one white dot in his tail fun and that was it. Well anyways today one of my clowns is acting weird he is starting in his sleeping spot swimming vertically most of the day. When the other clown comes near he runs him off. He is Also flashing in the power head and returns.
He has no white dots, he eats well and no other signs other than what I've mentioned he does have stringy poop looks like a human hair. I don't know if that's abnormal or not never watched close enough before to see. I'm not sure what to do it seems like a parasite to me but no signs. Oh yeah and I know I should have quarantined the wrasse first.

I would suggest posting a thread in the "Fish Disease Treatment" section. You will probably get more responses.

It does sound like it could be ich. How long between symptoms and death?

Oh yeah I just posted over there. I didn't notice that section when posting originally. Im getting used to this tag talk app. I purchased the wrasse last Sunday and it died last night. I thought if it was ich it would have little dots all over especially if it died that quickly. Water parameters are pretty good too. Nitrates are less than 2. I'm going to do several water changes over the next week.

what are your nitrites at? How long had the system been running? Stringy poop can mean an internal parasite. You should set up a QT asap and maybe treat with prazi-pro. Is he having a hard time breathing?

It's been up since October only had fish since Christmas. Nitrites are always at zero. I only wanted a wrasse and two clownfish thought I could skip the qt for the last fish, learning the hard way. He is breathing fine and no signs if anything except for the flashing and vertical swimming like she is sleeping. It's the large female too, the small male seems to be fine.

I'm at work. But she looks just normal. She sleeps in the corner top of the tank at night just swimming real slow in a vertical position there. She is doing the same thing now except all day rather than just at night. She will swim with the other clown for a few mins and flash on the powerheads and return pipe. Them goes back to the corner. I would normally think it's just odd behaviour if the wrasse hadn't just died.

I think to be safe you should take her out and put her in a QT. Treat her with some Prazi-Pro. Make sure to keep a close eye on your other fish. If it turns out it is not a parasite but rather the early stages of ich, you will need to treat all fish and leave your DT fallow for 72 days in order to rid the ich that would be in your DT. If more spots appear, it may be more likely ich than something else.
Also, if it turns out more spots appear either on her or the others, there's a thread in the fish disease section that addresses ich. Currently, I have a wrasse that's being treated for "possible" ich. I chose the TTM (again another thread in fish disease treatment if you're unfamiliar with this type of treatment). I chose this method instead of copper because, from my research, it appears wrasses can be sensitive to copper. Also, keep in mind that if it is ich instead of, or in addition to, an internal parasite, the fish will need either copper, hypo or TTM for treatment as Prazi-pro will not treat ich.

Ok thanks for the information. Glad I posted in the wrong section your the only one that has given me any advice. Thanks again.

No problem. Good luck. :) Any more questions you can private msg me or repost here (or in the fish disease part) lol
