Hi Guys,

I am looking for a few more fish to add to my tank 48G FOWLR. Right now I have a Saddled Toby Puffer, 1" Baby Panther Grouper (I know I will have to move him when he gets bigger), Fiji Blue Devil Damselfish,Orange Sea Star

I want to add

Marine Beta
Arc-Eye Halkfish
Arrow Crab

If those fish do not mix not I might consider, Or if you have any ideas please let me know.

Yellow Tang
Leopard Wrasse
Flame Cardinal
Long Nosed Halkfish

Thanks for you input,

Eric

I am not to sure about the Marine Beta there is not much info on it online and It looks like a slow eater. How about a small Kole Tang?

Thanks,

Eric

No on leopard wrasse, very difficult to keep. i don't know if a yellow tang is a good idea in anything less then a 4ft tank. But i've seen people do it

I had a small Yellow tang in my 30G but I had to sell him when he got bigger.

Marine Bettas are shy at first, but they soon break out of there shyness and readily compete for food. Well in my experience. I have a 75 gal tank, with a flame angel, indigo hamlet, marine betta, fox face lo, christmas wrasse, 3 PJ Cardinals, and a dragon goby. The Marine Betta is the king of the tank.

I wanted to add a sharp nose puffer at first, but I went with the indigo hamlet because I've read and from my experience with the brackish water green spot puffers, they tend to nip long finned fish. Since my Marine Betta has long fins, I didn't think it would have been a good idea. Plus the arrow crab you may want to add may end up as lunch to both hawkfish, panther grouper, saddle back toby, and marine betta.

Thanks for the info, I think I am going to get a trigger and I will also skip the arrow crab I think that he is to small and will be lunch to someone. Is there any invert that I could get to help keep my tank clean of leftovers?

Thanks for the help,

Eric.

All Triggers will out grow this tank..After you remove the Grouper, The Arc-eye Hawkfish would be best...They are really cool

Well you might be able to get away with a cleaner shrimp, but usually you would want to add that first, before the would be predators. Adding the cleaner shrimp first usually gives the cleaner shrimp time to adjust and find nice hiding spots, also to set up cleaning stations. But as you know in this hobby nothing is ever guaranteed to work. :D

If you want something real cool, you can get one of this big Hermit Crabs, they might be on the destructive side, but hey I'll be surprised if a little toby or any of the other guys would be able to dispatch.

What kind of crab would work in my tank? a Dardanus megistos?

Thanks,

Eric
