Im afraid im gonna loose everything. All my colonies.
Its been 4 days now that im fighting a bacterial bloom. And it only seems to get worse. All sps lost color considerably and show very little PE. They are getting covered by that stringy like bacteria thing.
WCs only seems to make it worse my filter socks are clogging up every 3h and the skimmer is pulling out a lot of bacteria. Yet no sign of improvement.
I added a couple of power heads to the sump to help with gas exchange. But nothing works. Some of my colonies started to RTN already. Im very frustrated.

Any help is apreciated

Im Running ROX yes! But I do not believe it helps at all. I just dont see how carbon could help biologically or chemically on a bacterial bloom. But im no expert.
PO4 was .01 before and is reading .00 after the bloom.
Nitrates are undetectable.
Everything else is in check as well.

Im using hanna and salifert for the tests.

Thanks

Are you carbon dosing with bio-pellets, vodka, etc? If so, stop. Carbon will absorb organics which could help, so I would continue to run carbon. Stringy bacteria? Possibly dinoflagellate(sp)? Do a search here on RC. Maybe if you could post a pic. Keep up with the aeration. Bacteria can cause low oxygen levels.

i have had the same thing happen in my last tank. it was in the early stages and i had a lot of coral. unfortunately i found there is NOTHING you can do. I would have a lot of flow on those living SPS and if the RTN colonies or frags are goners then get them out. IMO i always do. it seems sps and zoas take the hardest hit from this stuff. i remember the stringy **** all over everything. flow really doesn't help honestly it would just wave in the flow. and it just builds and builds in front of ur eyes. im sorry bro just takes time. stop wc for now. just skimmer carbon gfo the usual it really will burn its self out. nothing you can do

How long did it last? Dis u loose any coral?

Large water changes 50% or more will stop this....(multiple days as needed)

Change carbon again, insure power heads are causing surface O2, stop all dosing of carbon like vodka, & add Seachem Prime and Stability.
