Possible To Raise Cleaner Shrimp?????

Alright so my female cleaner shrimp is loaded with eggs. She has gotta have about 1000 in there.

Ive read that if you put them in a tank with a bare bottom and egg crate so the eggs can get away from the parents they can be raised. I guess you have to add rotifers and keep the tank clean. Is it possible to raise the baby cleaners? I have a small bare bottom 10 gal frag tank with only a couple corals growing, one small clown and a small bta. Would this work for trying to raise the eggs?

I know that peppermints have been done successfully, but I haven't heard of cleaners being bred with success. I would research the way they breed peppermint shrimp, and try that out for the cleaners. You should remove the clown, because he would eat any babies he found anyway. My pair of cleaner shrimp are always loaded with eggs, but I've never tried to raise them. I found it interesting that after every molt the shrimp switch sex. Because of this, there was a period of a couple months when they were both the same sex, because they are on different molting cycles. Now, everything is back to normal.

cleaner shrimp take about 6 months from hatching to settling into little shrimp. check out MOFIB, the cleaner shrimp is a 2009 breeders challenge, and i know of at least one person who has done it.
