Post Heat-Wave Crash = bigger softies!

This may sound weird, or it may make sense. After the heat wave crash, I lost alot of SPS, 80% of my torch, my entire huge Colt :( and some other stuff.

I did a water change after the death-wave, and another one recently.

Probably due to all the organics in the water ... all my muchrooms are huge now, and my RBTA split after the second water change! My zoos seem quite happy too! Now the only unhappy things, amongst the survivors are the ones being stung by the over-zealous RBTA clone!

Like I said, I'm guessing it's all the organics form the dead corals, or maybe the death of those corals opened up some space, or removed some chemical attack (the colt maybe?).

Weird, eh? (Yes, I'm Canadian). It's like a forest after a forest fire!

I agree with you that IMO the extra nutriends from the die off became a food sorce for many of your other corals.

That would seem to indicate that everything that is still alive now can withstand a massive nutrient dump. I wonder if that means I can massively overfeed the tank to boost the coral growth, and then water change it out to keep it from killing the tank. Or maybe it means that my tank is being overskimmed? (It can't be, my skimmer does not produce THAT much skimmate!)
