Post pics of your BLUE w/ GREEN POLYP danae, please! :)

As the title says.. I am just looking for pics of this sweet piece. I just ordered a frag.. just curious to see what others look like.

Mine will be kept in a 20g, under 250w HQI (14k) .

Also, if you wouldn't mind posting your experience with danae (or this piece) , if you notice it does well under certain conditions, etc... it would all be greatly appreciated.

Had mine for about 3 months. This is the second one, moved the first and it did worse. I have a green polyp. I keep it in medium light. It is indirectly light by a 250 phoenix de. It is near my wave box but slightly off to the side. It been doing great here. I'll try and post some pic's when I get time and remember how.

Here's the piece I got over the weekend.. pics do it no justice. Crappy cam + Crappy photographer ... I have it placed in the higest point of my 20g directly under 250w HQI (14k). It has a very dark blue base with super neon green polyps. Please post pics + info if you have this piece! It's definitely one of my fav's

Fast grower.....seems easy. Likes a lot of light to keep the dark blue.

Cool, thanks for the heads up. I have it in a 20g directly under 250w HQI .. so I think it has plenty of light right now.

Still would be nice to see other pieces similar.

Question on these danaes, I have a blue with red polyp do the like high light areas or should they be lower? Want my color to be its best. Thanks nice pics

I can't wait to see this thing grow, and change colours as I am sure it will.

Superman is next on my list for monti's .. I'd love to score a rainbow monti as well.. there's a ton of nice danae out there.

I got a Blue Moon Monti from Dr. Mac about 6 or 8 mos ago. It faded quite a bit when I first got it but after 3 or 4 mos it has gotten a lot darker. Its a nice piece. Oh wait I have a pic.. Ive got it midway in my 90 and decent flow. Its pretty much directly under one of the halides.

Well actually that picture is pretty true to real life :lol: The base is not very vibrant, actually very close to looking like milk chocolate color but with the baby blue polyps on it the contrast looks pretty nice.

Here is a old pic of my Rainbow monti colony. this is between a 250 14 DE bulb and a 15 K 400 watt bulb.

Here is a down shot of the same coral a few weeks/months later
Heavy lighting made it turn more purple but the sides grow a nice blue base with orange poylps.

What the frag's look like if you start them out small

A pic of a frag set low in the tank. The blue and orange is dull, but If I move it up I can get it to change to Purple and Green again. It is all in what you like with this coral.
