This has been something I have wanted to see for some time, so give up a few pics here and list what the bulb "K" is and if it is SE DE, Elect. Magnetic or HQI ballast.

my old 58 with 20K XM bulb, 250 watt DE HQI ballast yeah Barney peed in it.

same 58 with 14K hamilton 250 watt DE HQI ballast

29 gallon tank with 14K Phoenix 250 watt DE ARO Elect. ballast

125 with 10K 150 watt XM's and a single 250 Watt Ushio 10K all on ARO elect. ballasts

great looking tanks i like the 29's color personaly, but that 125 is awesome

I liked the Phoenix 14k's but they did tend to wash out the red colors.

None of the above shots have actintic supplementation.


Let's see how other's tanks look and the bulbs used.

Here is a shot with 2 - 400 MH 14k, 1 - 250 10k (in the center), and 440 watts of VHO all actinic.

funny, the fish must be camera shy.... there's not 1 in that shot.

LOL...I have about 14 fish in the 125 and only one is visible...usually they are always in the way of shots of the tank. How is the 125 going?

Just waiting for the water to clear up at this point. I'm hoping to at least get the fish in a 29 tomorrow and get all the sand from the 58 in there.

Then, I'm testing the water and hopefully mounting the lights and away we go...

Super Bowl is throwing a wrench into the works, though.
