Post your fish/pest catching techniques HERE!

Yesterday I posted a thread on other ideas on how I could catch my Striped Bristletooth tang, because my methods weren't working. After doing a search, I found that too many threads, with too little information were popping up. And I figured I'd take a page out of Sk8r's book and get people to post their own personalized methods here.

Normally the tactic I use is failsafe. I cut out a bottle (size varying depending on the fish). Poke a hole through the rim of the bottle and attach a fishing line to the bottle. I place some food into the bottle (with a piece of LR to make it sink) and lower it into the aquarium.
I wait until the fish I want out gets into the bottle and yank it up using the fishing line. Normally it doesn't take long and the fish is out without stressing too much.

2. baited net. Start feeding him out of it, never let him extract the cube, and as he gets cockier and cockier about going into it to get fed, oooch the net closer to the glass day by day.

until the day you simply rotate it against the glass: he'll instinctively bolt in the direction escape USED to lie, and trap himself deep in the net.

Grab a shotgun, and rapid fire...hey, you might hit it, but then again, you might hit everything else.

But seriously I like Sk8r's idea about the net.

Fish traps work well for fish that are carnivores. For a video check out Melev's website.

I use the old drain, capture and refill method. It's a good opportunity for a water change and a lil clean-up too.

I recently purchased some acrylic to build a custom fish trap but I haven't gotten around to building it yet.

+2 Sk8r`s Idea, however this method might prove to be quicker...
lol.
