I know it doesn't look too great because it's white, but it's happy as can be, eats everything I feed it, opens nicely everyday,so I'm content

siscim23, the base doesn't look bleached so he's doing okay I suppose! is he a ritteri or something else?

Yeah the base used to be a little lighter, and pink/red at night, but now it's a gray color, almost a shade of blue. It's a sabae.

Siscim23, I am all but positive you have a H. magnifica on your hands. But I am interested what you are keeping it with and what your params are? Is it in the tank listed on your profile?

That is no Crispa (sebae)
Crispas don't stand up like that...it looks very much like a magnifica.

Alrighty My anemone used to be very bright green and very bulbous but now its starting to looks more faded and less bulbous. Any ideas? I'll show before and after pics (taken from my iphone I apologize for the lack of quality.

Is this a normal color for these anemones?
I've seen a few in the LFS recently that were a nice yellow (not light flourescent yellow like this :rollface: , but a more solid yellow like this )

Reading through Wet-web media, the info said that this is a "bleached" color. Normal color was supposed to be more brown.

Oh well, the LFS said it was sabae so that's what I went by lol.

Yeah the one in my profile. I have 2 perculas hosting it, a scopus tang, 3 damsels, cleaner shrimp, a few turbos, blue knuckel hermit crab, sand sifters.

pH tends to stay low, around 8.0
No phosphates, some nitrates, no nitrites, no ammonia,
Calcium at either 450 or 500
Alkalinity I'm not sure what it's at, but it's a safe level, and is consistent.
Temperature is between 79 and 81.

Haven't gotten around to it although I've been meaning to.

I originally had the Ruins in my Quarantine tank cause it was so boring and empty and needed somewhere for a fish to hang.

Then when I came back to school and got my new Tank I just added it in and stacked up the LR around it. Turned out looking real nice and the fish love it.

What K bulb are you using? I assume it is still the 150w MH listed in your tag line? How high off the water is it? Hrs per day?

Yea its the 150W 14,000K metal halide lamp. its about 4inchs off the glass i'd say raises tank temperature about 3 degrees. Not hard to compensate for. I turn on the tank around 10 after I get back from class in the morning and it goes off around 11 to 12 at night and switch to the blue LEDS
