Here are my mandarins. Post a picture of yours. Perhaps also discuss what you are feeding it if anything.

Here is a picture of mine a couple of weeks before I lost it -- the first victim of my Haddoni anemone.

Prior to that s/he was eating LifeLine's Herbivore mix, Prime Reef and Spectrum pellets.

Beautiful fish. I've had my psychedelic for going onto 3 years now. She has started breeding with a newer psychedelic male at night

How did your tang take it out? Was she pregnant?
Nice photos guys.

i saw the tang one day have the mandarin in the corner and just whiping away at it with its tail..poor mandarin could not gewt away..i tried to stop it and moved the mandarin to the fuge but i guess the stress of it all got to it..was sad to see..but the yellow had to go after that

I've been hearing that feeding pellets to mandarins is a bad thing despite finding that myself and several others seemingly having success with pellets. Whats the backing behind that?

JUMPING IN... THERE IS A STUDENT IN FLORIDA TACH UNIVERSITY THAT JUST DISCOVERED HOW TO BREED THEM... HE IS IN HIS SECOND BATCH AND IS PERFECTING THE PROCESS. HE KNOW HAS ONLY A 2% MORTALITY RATE AND HAS HUNDREDS OF BABIES ABOUT 3 MONTHS OLD OR SO... THE BEST PART IS THAT HE WEENED THEM INTO EATING PELLETS... SO HOLDYOUR HORSES SOON IT SHOULD BE HARD AT ALL TO BE ABLE TO KEEP THIS BEATIFUL FISHES FOR A LONG TIME... WELL GOOD LUCK GUYS...

Nice fish! I would get a pic of mine if it came out of hiding long enough!! I see it about once a month.

Wow for real??? That's insane! I hope this guy shares his technique and secrets with the world. He could probably get a pretty good job at ORA as well if he wanted to.

I wish I had pictures of my Mandarins before I sold them :(

That would be tough. I can get mine to mate (previously posted pictures) but they expel the fertilized eggs into the water column. How does one capture those?

there was a thread in the fish breeding forum where someone discussed simply collecting the eggs once they floated to the surface. They then attempted to raise them but as we all know raising fry is the hard part.
