This is a local tank that was TOTM not too long ago. I was able to shoot a few shots prior to that. Beautiful in person of course; all credit to the owner.

Jacob - nice exposure and shot. Kudos to whom ever that tank belongs too!

Firstsalt - cool, yeah, birds can be crazy busy! I was tracking a Kingfisher all over the place the other day and never even got one usable shot. Little bugger!

Brett - Thank you for your comment. As for your question the first pic the stilt was probably 5-7 yrds away the second pic they were about 30yrds away.

They are very shy birds. It took me 45min to get that close. I dropped down on my belly and moved little by little. Any sudden moves and they take off.

Very nice Louis. I love how you can see forever in some of your's and Doug's shots. Too many hills here. I'm gonna try to get on top on some this weekend. We're starting to peak!!!! You could put it in both!!!!!

Yes sir, head up, and up :). The funny thing is that sometimes I miss that intimate feeling of the east where you are surrounded and enshrouded in the trees. Grand vistas here for sure, stunning, but different. Look forward to some new shots from you next week!
